Black Panther | Review | Why It’s Different

Black Panther

Black Panther is awesome. It is so exciting that I got to watch it opening weekend!! I think it is the first and only Marvel movie that I have seen opening weekend (so far…) I remember anxiously waiting for it to come out for some time. My excitement and expectations were building up because the critic reviewers were raving about this movie. So, when I finally went to the theater to watch it, my expectations were high. And I have to say, it was pretty good.

The Summary

T’Challa goes back to Wakanda to become king, after his father’s death. Leading a kingdom is never easy, and it wasn’t even in this case. New enemies risk King T’Challa’s position, danger the people of Wakanda, and could possibly cause damage to the world. It is up to Black Panther to fix it all.

Black Panther Review

This movie is nice because unlike other Marvel movies, it didn’t have as much action. I never say no to good action, but the change is also kind of nice. Black Panther shows us the importance of being a good ruler and different aspects of leading a kingdom.

In this movie, my favorite line is definitely, “WAKANDA FOREVER!!!” Who agrees with me? Let me know in the comments!

How it is different

While I watched it, I was surprised to see this movie is different than the typical Marvel movie. Here are the differences:

  1. There was a lot of cultural background buildup for King T’Challa (Black Panther). Through the movie, they showed different ceremonies that Wakanda does to welcome the new Black Panther.
  2. Most Marvel movies are male-dominated, and it was great to see that Black Panther’s army was made of women that kick butt. Even King T’Challa’s sister, Shuri, is shown through out the movie as super smart and helping the injured people.
  3. It had less action. As mentioned above, there was a lot of cultural buildup for Black Panther. Also, in general, there was more talking, and less action.
